Within the framework of the social project For Safety on the Road, Porsche Ukraine has handed over a brand-new SEAT Altea XL to the Ukrainian Patrol Police Department.

2017-10-13

On Thursday, September 14th, the Patrol Police  Department officially received a new SEAT Altea XL to be used by the Public Relations Department. This is a compact multi-purpose vehicle suitable for usage in any road conditions.

Porsche Ukraine LLC is engaged in implementing the social project For Safety on the Road intended to promote careful and responsible behavior of the road users in the Ukrainian roads and expanding its scope. According to statistics of the Ukrainian State Motor Vehicle Inspectorate, the issue associated with road safety in Ukraine will continue being relevant in the coming years. This is why we have decided to support the Ukrainian Patrol Police Department in implementation of one of the focus areas of the Public Relations Department, specifically School Police Officer experimental model.

Special-purpose vehicle will be used to get the school officers of the Patrol Police Department to the higher educational institutions and schools throughout Ukraine for conduction of relevant trainings aimed at creating awareness for the road safety among students. School Police Officer project is currently running in 4 Ukrainian cities, namely  Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, and Lviv. In 2017-2018, it is planned to be launched in other 7 cities: Dnipro, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, Kropyvnytskyi, Severodonetsk, Lisychansk, and Rubizhne.

Police officers are hosting interactive meetings with school and university students. The relevancy of this campaign is explained by its goal to raise awareness among the road users, encourage strict observance of the Traffic Rules, prevent violations in the most efficient manner, boost social activism etc. For the record, the very same School Police Officer model is also implemented in the United States and Canada.

We believe that this social campaign is absolutely vital and time-appropriate. The company considers its involvement in the project to be a unique chance to contribute to this charitable cause. We as the official importer of Volkswagen, Audi and Seat vehicles in Ukraine take our participation in it very seriously and hope that the project will help improve overall road safety, while minimizing violations of the established road traffic rules in Ukraine.

The car keys have been personally received by Ievgen Zhukov, the Head at the Patrol Police Department.
